Scott R. Valby
In 1977, Mr. Valby received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University; and in 1981 he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Law.
Karen H. Miller
In the early years of her legal career, Ms. Miller served as a title attorney for a major North Carolina title insurance company. In 1980 Ms. Miller received a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from Loyola University of Chicago; and in 1986 she received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Illinois College of Law.
Ms. Miller is a member of the State Bar of Texas. Ms. Miller practices in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, corporate, banking, and construction law.
Thomas G. Overbeck
In 1980, Mr. Overbeck received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University; and in 1983 he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Baylor University School of Law.
Mr. Overbeck is a member of the State Bar of Texas; and he has been admitted to practice before the courts of the State of Texas, all United States District Courts in the State of Texas, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Mr. Overbeck manages the Firm’s litigation group; and he practices in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, corporate, banking, and construction law and in civil litigation. Mr. Overbeck has served as Chairman of the Regulatory Compliance Committee of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association, and he is a frequent speaker at bar association and mortgage industry functions.
Jing Xiong "Brad" Luo
In 2000 Mr. Luo received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Wuhan University in Wuhan, China; and in 2003 he received a Master of Arts degree in Second Language Education from the University of Houston. In 2009 Mr. Luo received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law.
Mr. Luo is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar of Georgia, and the New York State Bar. Mr. Luo is licensed to practice before the courts of the State of Texas and the State of New York and in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Mr. Luo practices in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, corporate, banking, and construction law and in civil litigation. Mr. Luo served on the Board of Directors of the Houston Mortgage Bankers Association from 2016-2020, and he is a frequent speaker at bar association and mortgage industry functions.
Jennifer G. Davis
In 2009 Ms. Davis received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina and Chapel Hill; and in 2012 she received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the South Texas College of Law Houston.
